One of the most magical times to visit the happiest place on earth is Christmas time.  The parks are all decorated with over the top Christmas trees, Christmas lights, and perfectly wrapped packages that would even have the Grinch smiling.  Every park and resort comes to life with a uniquely different experience.  One experience that is a must is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  Like many, on our first trip to Disney at Christmas I wondered, is it really worth the extra money to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?  After going back and forth for a few days we decided to just go for it.

As the day approached we could not wait.  As we walked up to the Magic Kingdom gates we knew we had made the right decision.  The cast members standing out front in their Christmas attire started the mood for a magical night.  Past the main gates and entering the park to a larger than life Christmas tree and a Main Street covered in Christmas decor with snow falling leading to Cinderella’s Castle covered in sparkling white lights.  Beautiful would be the only way to describe it.  You do not need to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to see the park decorated for Christmas, but you do to enjoy the events special to the party itself.

My son loves parades and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is his favorite.  A mix of Disney and Christmas that is sure to have everyone in your party smiling.  Don’t forget Santa at the end.  Celebrate the Season Show on the main stage is all about giving gifts and is not to be missed.

If you are more of a fireworks fan, the Holiday Wishes is unbelievable.  Make sure you find a good seat to see Tinkerbell soar across the sky and then watch the breath-taking fireworks display.

If you are a real party animal then Totally Tomorrowland Christmas is for you.  Dancing with Buzz, Mike Wazowski, and other Disney characters and then helping Stitch find Santa is fun for all ages.  It also is a great place to let the small kids get out of the stroller and burn off a little energy.

Not only can you enjoy the party, Christmas lights, shows, characters, and fireworks.  You can also enjoy cookies and hot chocolate at stations located throughout the park.
